Work Club 2024-2026 (Manchester)

Join Work Club 2024–2026 with Gaydio Academy and Manchester City Council. You’ll build radio and media skills, boost your confidence with one-to-one mentoring, and get tailored support with CV workshops and career advice. Plus, you’ll create your own content and gain volunteering opportunities to help you take the next step into secure employment and training.

This course will see you in five informal training sessions, over a single week, at our Manchester HQ.

Course Layout

1. Introduction to Radio and how to become a radio presenter

2. Show content & news presenting

3. Other roles in radio & a look at music

4. Creating your own station, job searching in the industry and preparation for the creation of your podcasts

5. Podcast creation, a session exploring the next stage progression tailored to participants' specific needs and next steps with Gaydio and other radio stations

Location, Dates and Times

Location: Gaydio, Suite 1a, Manchester One, 53 Portland Street, M1 3LF

Date:  24th to 28th November 2025

Time: 10am to 1/1:30pm

Cost: Free for all participants (that meet the criteria below)

Criteria

• You must be 18+

• You must be a Manchester City Council resident (not Salford, Stockport, Bolton etc). If you are from those other areas then please get in touch on our connect page so our team can advise another course for you.

• Must be available for the dates above

• Must not have previously completed 'Work Club' or 'Intro to Radio & Podcasting' with the Gaydio Academy
