Lee and the Gaydio staff are a force to be reckoned with. They know their stuff and you truly believe you are in good hands with the knowledge you receive valuable and very informative delivered in a fun way that makes you take every bit in. If I could I would go on every course Gaydio holds. Definitely made me want to join and work in radio more. This course has inspired a feeling of confidence and motivation that I have not felt for a long time. The Gaydio Academy differs from other skills courses as it’s also delivered by someone who actively works in Radio and not just the classroom. I had no idea what to expect, which can be quite nerve-wracking, but was put at ease from the moment I arrived. Lee could not be more welcoming and supportive; a brilliant facilitator! He made everything we covered, (and we covered a lot!) accessible; happy to field questions and give further examples when needed. He opened up the World of Radio: things we'd never previously considered, giving a much greater appreciation for all that goes into making a station run smoothly and produce good content. Each session was interesting and engaging. I loved every second!

The week has been a great introduction to the world of radio. Gaydio’s values in being a community radio station for the UK’s LGBT citizens was weaved fantastically into the content, whilst also providing a general overview of the industry. The atmosphere at the Gaydio Academy is absolutely positive and vibrant compared to anywhere I have been. It helps when everyone at Gaydio is friendly and evoking positive vibes, including the employees working at Gaydio. The course tutor, Lee, is friendly, patient and helpful. I learned more about creating C.V.s, which the job centre failed and didn't bother to teach me about over the years. Lee is gracious enough to give me feedback and tips on how to improve my C.V.

Mega cheers for today Lee. Loved it and I like your training style. It didn't feel like a course at all. Considering some of the courses I have been on working for the Police before I retired. Some of them can bore you to sleep, Haha But seriously thankyou. After I did the bit recording I felt a sense of like ‘hell yeah I can do this if I work on 'X', 'Y' and 'Z’ So thank you!

I've landed a radio position at SAM Radio, a non-profit community radio station run by autistic people, for autistic people. I do a weekly show on Friday at 1pm talking about mental health and playing corresponding tracks from different genres. This was one of the most impactful courses I have ever done. After looking for a career change and not working for a while it was a breath of fresh air that I didn't realise I was looking for. Lee was the perfect tutor for the course with boundless enthusiasm and knowledge.
