Audible Futures - LGBTQ+ Storytelling & Podcasting (Advanced Podcasting)

‘Audible Futures’ with Gaydio is a powerful podcast series that explores the diverse experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals across the North West and is a spin-off of our 'Audible Lives' Podcast series. Through personal storytelling and shared advice, participants open up about their journeys and offer insight to others in the community.

This project is taking place in both Manchester and Liverpool, where participants will attend a series of sessions focused on storytelling, interviewing, and podcast recording & production. You will be guided by podcast professionals, including Emma Goswell, a multi-award-winning podcaster and author. After the initial session, you are tasked with interviewing LGBTQ+ individuals and allies from across the UK, using these conversations as the foundation for their group-created podcasts.

Course Layout

1. Introduction to Gaydio, our audience, skills in interviewing & learning about equipment.

2. Learning skills in storytelling and scripting before letting you go off by yourself/pairs to gather content

3. Review the content gathered and prepare the layout for the recording

4. Editing audio you have gathered, ready for recording

5. Studio podcast record day

Criteria

• You must be aged 16 to 30

• Must be living in the North West Area

• Must be available for all dates above

• Must not have done a previous 'Advanced Podcast Course or Audible Lives' course with Gaydio
